Hello guyz, thank you for coming to this site although I rarely do update :( . This year (2012) I will try to make at least one new update every one month. Well, I hope I can make it like a diesel engine - slow buat sure and than can accelerate myself better.

Many things happened since my last post: I did some training for REDD (Reducing Emmisions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) issues in Jambi Province in Indonesia. I am following an English language training so I can write better (with some absent in  my class). In January, with some friends from Universitas Indonesia and University of Washington, we did some village visit in Halimun Salak National Park.

Well, I like to share more but I think you will be interested more for the modules. Ok then ... let start the modules... :)  - Happy reading...

Guys, I want to inform you old news - but it's really important. Do you see many category in the right side of this blog that categorize all of writings into : facilitation technique, nature game, nature game, wisdom story, energizer, ice breaker, etc?

First, I'm not a very good organizer. It's mean that sometimes I found new category that suite more rather than those old category, than I re-organize my writings. Unfortunetely, It happened only in my spare time.It's not perfect.

Second, you always can find something different, get new insight or do some modification. I believe that you can get new insight related with the condition you have in your class. It means that you sometimes can use "ICE BREAKER" game to talk about "CLIMATE CHANGE" if you can get the "KEY". What should we do is by finding the right block for the puzzle..

Hello guys, how are you? Just want you to know that after a day of think, I decided to expand this blog, so it become better... I mean that I feel that nature games, experiments were not enough to support education and create awareness for people...

So I will create and modified another facilitation technique category beside nature game and experiments and all of those activities will be packed into "facilitation technique" label, and its sub.

In this part, you can read about how to do introduction-icebreaking, energizing and forming a group, enhancing group dynamics, improve listening and observation, analysis, evaluation, semi-structured interviewing, diagramming and evaluation, ranking and scoring.

Well, I still need more time to organize this blog so it can be read easily. Some of blog features didn't support the appearance I want, so it looks that I must find alternative: find another template, add better link to find writings, etc.

Hope all of this item can support you to increase more awareness in social, environment, economic, and spiritual-humanity related movements. Good luck ^_^ !

Hi again everybody... this time I ask for your apologize for not updating the game, the experiment periodically.

For about almost 6 months I try to build a teacher community "Environmental Education Community for Teachers" or something sounds like that in my town: Bogor - Indonesia.

We did some basic training to strengthen the community; 1 modules per-month, and as the result we now have 2 groups of environmentally friendly teachers ^^ : one in the town and the other is in the regency area. All of this activity plus a kind of change in my NGO management distrained my attention.

hopefully, in this month I can build a new module for our blog again. I know it's a little bit disappointing to see that no new game created for almost 5 month. Really sorry :(

Forty years ago, on April 22, 1970, more than 20 million people converged in small towns and major cities across the United States to help launch the modern environmental movement. That first Earth Day was part teach-in, part call-to-action and part celebration. At Earth Day Network, our Education program continues a successful history of environmental education initiatives dating back to the first Earth Day in 1970. We are continuing this tradition for the upcoming 40th anniversary of the first Earth Day on Thursday April 22, 2010. We have hundreds of resources to help go green and get involved in Earth Day.
Here’s a list of fun activities you can do with your kids to teach them about the environment.

• Pull out invasive plants and replace them with native species.
• Ride bikes, walk or take public transit.
• Volunteer at a local Earth Day event.
• Write a letter to a local policymaker.
• Start a family garden and grow healthy food. Start a compost pile and use a rain barrel.
• Switch out light bulbs for energy- efficient CFLs.

• Learn about the history of the environmental movement. Use activity ideas from Earth Day Network lesson plans.
• Paint an eco- mural. Use green art supplies.
• Make art from recycled objects.
• Play educational games Environmental Jeopardy. • Use the interactive online Ecological Footprint quiz. • View and discuss films on Earth Day TV.

• Clean up your playground, schoolyard, walking paths or watershed.

Before Christmas Notes

Before Christmas Notes

It's already December. It's rainy now in Indonesia and we will celebrate Christmas 2 weeks from now. I start to feel warm atmosphere around me ; the music start to play X-mas song everywhere.

This is my first personal notes after 8 months blogging for these environmental education modules. It does grow older and I still hope it can help many teachers, educators, facilitators to increase their ability and knowledge for environment education.

Well, yes. First time I thought it will become an environment blog only, but in the way I feel that it also become a blog for educators. I feel it's important to include more color, wider spectrum of education to give deeper understanding that nothing is stand alone.

Forgive me for my English. I have only a little time and effort to edit my English since sometimes I found difficulties to find right words with my little pocket dictionary in my home (not in the office cos I lost concentration then).

I also hope you understand that you can always modified the method, not only by translate my writings only - to become a fix guide books :( .

In the future, I dream that we can edit all the post and complete it into a pdf file (to be share) or a book so it can reach more people. In my country, more than 95% (my guess only) of teachers aren't used to surfing the internet.

Hmm... 99% maybe if I think seriously and consider the non-formal educators in the field (remote area) like my friend in the Taa Wana tribe in Sulawesi (Celebes).

Hope this handful of sand can help us build a world wonder one day. Good luck for your activity.
